Text cover polygons how to build minecraft

Instant polygons: World Edit, Arceon, Axiom, Survival (Hexagons, pentagons, octagons)

There’s no straightforward way to make automatic polygons in Minecraft World Edit. Let’s fix this:

Refer to cover image for what I’m describing.

World Edit: //Rotate & clean up

  1. Go out from the center of your to-be-shape. Place a block and //stack it both ways to create one edge of your polygon. (Estimate the needed length.) Select it and go back to the center.
  2. Divide 360 by the number of sides your shape will have, e.g. 360/6 = 60 for a hexagon. Now //rotate 60, //paste -a, and repeat until the shape is made. Try using a thicker starter line to prevent gaps.
  3. Clean up the edges and //fill BLOCK RADIUS if desired.

Plugins that make it easier:

  1. Arceon is a one-time-payment to download from Arcaniax Patreon. Add it to your server to use it.
  2. Axiom is an advanced utility with a subscription for building teams. Required server- and client-side.
  3. Both are free to try on servers like Builder’s Refuge (cross-version). Both use a different workflow.

Arceon: //Revolve points or lines

  1. POINTS: Place and select a block to act as one of the corners. Go to the center of your to-be-shape and //revolve X (X being the number of sides). Now connect the points with World Edit’s //line.
  2. LINES: Go out from the center of your to-be-shape. Place a block and //stack it both ways to create one edge of your polygon. (Estimate the needed length.) //Revolve X at the center and trim excess.
  3. You can fill your shape with World Edit’s //fill BLOCK RADIUS.

Axiom: Customise the Shape tool

  1. Go to Axioms editor wth right shift and find the Shape tool in the sidebar. Switch to “flat” and “regular polygon” modes for the polygon shape we want. Customise the options, for example:
  2. Check “hollow” to make an unfilled outline of your shape. Change the radius. Change the number of sides (ctrl+click for a custom amount). Now you are able to click in the world to place the shape.
  3. To change the block used, find and change the ACTIVE BLOCK.

In survival: manual or Litematica

In survival, use a customizable shape generator like https://minecraftshapes.com and copy the result. For shapes like an octagon it will be easier as they are mirrored on all sides. Alternatively, use https://modrinth.com/mod/litematica to import a holographic blueprint of a shape to physically see and follow what you need to do. (I’ve never used it, but I know others praise it highly.) Good luck!
